South African Surf Trip is a MUST!!
Hey guys good to be back after a week. Something a little different this week. I recently spent a week travelling through Cape Town and the Kruger National Park, and it reminded me all over again why South Africa is such a special place. The older I get, the more I appreciate just how lucky I am to have grown up here. This country is wild, beautiful, peaceful, and full of adventure. From rugged coastlines and world-class surf breaks to incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes, there really is nowhere else quite like it. If you've never visited South Africa on a surf trip, put it on your bucket list. It WILL change your life!! What makes a South African surf adventure so unique is that it's about so much more than the waves. One day you could be surfing perfect lines at J-Bay, and the same day you could be watching elephants, rhinos, lions, and giraffes from the comfort of your vehicle. There aren't many places in the world where you can combine a world-class surf experience with a genuine African safari. The trip itself was work-related. I was filming content for the social media launch of an American tour company and it gave me the opportunity to explore some incredible parts of the country. In this video, I've probably used less than 5% of the footage we captured. The scenery, wildlife, and experiences were simply unforgettable. It was also refreshing to step away from my usual routine of filming waves and houses (my other job) and challenge myself creatively in a completely different environment. It's an experience I'll remember for a long time. Of course, I couldn't stay away from the ocean completely. I managed to squeeze in a bit of filming at J-Bay, and from the looks of things, it may be the last decent swell for a few days. That should give me some time to catch up on editing and start working through the mountain of footage from this trip. I hope you're enjoying the content as much as I'm enjoying creating it.
