Did he make this Air? *VIBING* South African Surf Scene.

Welcome back guys 🤙 This one was a bit of an adventure. I did an early morning run from St Francis Bay through to Port Alfred to catch the WSL Royal St Andrews Rip Curl Cup—and just spend the day filming and hanging with some of the best up-and-coming surfers in South Africa. It’s about a two-and-a-half-hour drive, so it was coffee in hand and straight on the road before sunrise. Always something special about those early missions. The waves didn’t really deliver the way the forecast said they would, but honestly… the vibe made up for it. Super relaxed, good energy all around, and plenty of action both in and out of the contest. What stood out for me was just the level of surfing. The progression, the airs, and all the work happening behind the scenes with coaching—it’s looking really good for the future of South African surfing. I also spent some time down the beach filming the guys free surfing, which was actually one of the highlights for me. Of course… the swell only arrived the next day 😅 And by then, I was already heading back to J-Bay to try score it—so that’s coming up in the next video.
