Shakshuka Recipe Onion – 1 Garlic clove – 2 Bell pepper (red) – 1 Tomato – 4 Ground cumin – 1/2 tsp Turmeric – 1/2 tsp Ground black pepper – 1/4 tsp Chili (optional) – 1/4 tsp Salt – to taste Egg – 4 Hard cheese (optional) – 40 g Greens – to taste Directions 1. Prepare the vegetables: finely chop the onion and garlic, dice the pepper. 2. Pour a little water into a non-stick frying pan and sauté the chopped onion over medium heat. Add the garlic and pepper, stir, and cook for 3-4 minutes. 3. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, peel them, and chop finely. Add them to the pan with the vegetables, season with salt and pepper, add the spices, and stir. Bring the vegetables to a boil, then make wells for the eggs (one well per egg). Crack an egg into each well. Reduce the heat and cook the eggs until done to your liking. 4. Transfer the shakshuka to plates, sprinkle with grated cheese if desired, garnish with herbs, and serve.
