人が離れていく2つの話し方【仏教の教え】

A certain hashtag is gaining attention on X (formerly Twitter). It's "The Reason I Hate My Father." Adult women are posting about the reasons they came to dislike their fathers as children. Even now, married and living away from home, some posts say, "I don't talk to him. When my grandchildren are born, I'll never let them see them." These posts are the kind that would make any father with a daughter turn pale. How can one maintain a good relationship with their daughter for years to come? This is a timeless concern for fathers everywhere. There's a survey result that offers a hint to solving this problem. The survey involved 1,000 men and women in their 20s. According to the survey, 12% of women said they "wash their laundry separately from their fathers." However, when considering fathers with a certain characteristic, that figure jumps to 38%. So, what kind of father was it? It was a father who "never listened to anything." What this data shows is that fathers who haven't built a trusting relationship are more likely to be disliked. Conversely, if you listen carefully and build a good relationship, you can let minor issues slide. I understand how difficult it is to come home tired from work and then have to listen to your children. It's easy to give vague answers like "Oh," or "Hmm," while your eyes are on the TV, but the consequences of such behavior are significant, and it's frightening how it can eventually lead to your child disliking you. Many children cited "being dismissed outright or ordered around" as a reason for disliking their father, so while "listening carefully" is important, it's certainly not about "forcing your daughter to listen to your stories." This seems to apply not only to daughters, but also to sons, wives, and even relationships with superiors and subordinates. Kannon Bodhisattva, a bodhisattva who attends Amida Buddha and symbolizes compassion, is written as "the bodhisattva who observes sound." Sound refers to "the cries of sorrow and lamentation of sentient beings." Here, "to observe" means "to listen," so it means to wholeheartedly listen to the voices of people's worries and lamentations. To listen attentively to people's troubles and worries, and to share in their suffering, is impossible without "compassion." People with such "compassion" are admired, loved, and respected, and this is true in every era. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE is here ----------------------------------------------------------------- ・Updates on videos and columns ・A mini-corner explaining Buddhist terms in simple terms ・Exclusive projects for LINE friends, etc. ▼"Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE is here https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20-Lesson Free Email Course is here ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" as taught in Buddhism.
