I Couldn’t Put Down This WILD Book About Food, Trauma & Weight Loss | Book Review

Emmett is struggling in nearly every area of his life — physically, financially, emotionally, and romantically. When he stumbles across an Instagram ad for a new weight loss clinical trial promising dramatic results without diet or exercise, he jumps at the opportunity. But as the trial progresses, things start getting very weird… very fast. 👀 This book explores so many layered themes including obesity, eating disorders, childhood trauma surrounding food, emotional eating, body positivity/body negativity, unfulfilment in life, weight loss culture, and even cannibalism(!?). It felt especially relevant with all the conversations around GLP-1s and modern weight loss culture happening right now. I absolutely loved the writing style. The mix of narrative storytelling, journal entries, interviews, and reports kept the story engaging and made me fly through it. I was captivated the entire time! Overall, I gave this one 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and definitely recommend checking it out if you enjoy unsettling, thought-provoking horror with social commentary. Have you read Nothing Tastes as Good yet?
