ENDLESS Views on a 9 MILE hike along the Big Wood River
Seven long days after hiking thru the Hemingway-Boulders Wilderness, along the East Fork of the Big Wood River, I made the 2.5 hour drive back to the wilderness to hike along the North Fork. This 9.2 mile hike had endless views of the jagged mountain tops, snow capped peaks, and followed the Big Wood River north thru dense forests of blowdowns, deadfalls, and rugged backcountry trail. And at the top, I was rewarded with the best view of it all - GALENA PEAK! This hike was special to me, bringing me back to the peak that kicked off 2026: The Year of Big Adventures.
