When early attachment feels unstable, the nervous system adapts by building protective identities designed to prevent disconnection at all costs. People pleasing, perfectionism, hyperindependence, performance, anxiety, and even chronic symptoms can all function as strategies to avoid ever feeling that original helplessness again. What appears to be personality is often a survival system built around a younger exiled part that felt unseen or unsafe. From a Jungian perspective, this abandoned inner child becomes part of the shadow. The body then expresses what the conscious mind suppresses through tension, emotional reactivity, illness, and fear of rejection. Adult triggers reactivate the old wound, and the nervous system responds as if survival is threatened. The deeper issue is not current rejection but the unresolved split between the adult and the exiled child. Healing begins when we stop trying to avoid the pain and instead turn toward it with presence. By staying with the bodily sensations of rejection without self criticism or escape, the adult self becomes the secure base the child never had. Safety shifts from being dependent on others to being internal. As the abandoned part is welcomed back into awareness, the nervous system settles, symptoms soften, and life reorganizes around truth rather than fear. 00:00 Intro music. 00:12 The wound of rejection organizing a person’s life. 01:03 Early attachment and the fear of abandonment. 02:14 Protective identities formed to avoid rejection. 03:28 People pleasing, perfectionism, and hyperindependence as survival strategies. 05:02 The nervous system learning to anticipate disconnection. 06:41 The abandoned inner child becoming an exiled part. 08:27 Jung’s shadow and suppressed emotional pain. 10:09 Triggers in adult life reactivating the original wound. 12:18 The body expressing what the mind avoids. 14:33 Why rejection feels like a survival threat. 16:11 The split between the adult self and the abandoned child. 18:02 Turning toward the feeling instead of avoiding it. 20:16 Staying present with the bodily sensations of rejection. 22:04 Becoming the secure base the child never had. 23:41 Integrating the exiled part back into awareness. #SamMiller #TheGreatAllowing #HealingHappensWhenYouAllow #EmotionalProcessing #MindbodyConnection #ChronicPain #Neuroplasticity #TMS #Sarno #ClaireWeeks #Fibromyalgia #ChronicFatigue #FoodSensitivities #LymeDisease #AutoimmuneDisease #Migraines #Dysautonomia #BackPain #MCAS #CRPS #POTS #FND #ME #CFS #IBS #LongCovid #Insomnia #ChronicIllness #MentalHealth #TraumaHealing #CPTSD#PTSD #OCD #Anxiety #PanicAttack #Depression #HealthAnxiety #Awakening #CarlJung #SpiritualAwakening #Meditation #GuidedMeditation #ChildHoodTrauma #TraumaRecovery #Conciousness #Awareness #Observer #Neuroscience #NarcissisticAbuse #InnerChildHealing #EmotionalHealing #Mindfulness #Mindset #Presence #Allowing #Shadow #ShadowWork #Nonduality #IAM #Zen #HealingJourney #Psychology #Recovery #Dysregulation #Individuation #IFS #PartsWork #TraumaProcessing #Integration #PPPD #MdDS #NeuroCircuitDizziness #VestibularSymptoms
