Her parents divorced when she was very young, and Aicha grew up in her maternal family, where there was a Catholic tradition, though not very active beyond religious holidays. She knew of God, but a very distant, demanding, punishing God, and sometimes even lenient when asked for something. When her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she gave up everything to care for her. She gave up her job, friends, comforts, fun... everything she took for granted as her own. Because that's how life was. During her mother's illness, they began to discover and experience faith, prayer, trust, and surrender to God's will together. Her mother improved against all odds and to the astonishment of the doctors. As unexpected as her miraculous recovery, her mother died. And Aicha went from the hope of an absolute miracle to depression, addictions, and, above all, turning her back on God. But something had already changed within her during the moments of prayer she shared with her mother. She felt an inexplicable need to go to church, to be with the Lord, even if it meant getting even angrier with Him. Then she heard about the Emmaus retreats. She became interested. And at first, she didn't want to open that door. When the moment arrived, she had a direct and very personal encounter with Jesus on that road to Emmaus. There she also discovered that she wasn't baptized and, therefore, couldn't receive the sacraments of Confession and Communion. She investigated, she searched everywhere she could to find out if she was baptized. "Conclusion: no." At that point, a new life began for her... Aicha received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist on December 8, 2025, at the Parroquieta de la Seo in Zaragoza, Spain.
