Transform Chaotic Color into Balanced Composition | Abstract Painting Technique

Transform chaotic color into a balanced composition in this intuitive abstract painting technique demo. In this video, I'll show you one of my favorite ways to build an abstract painting by starting with a loose, energetic background and then using simple repeated shapes to organize the surface into a stronger composition. Instead of planning every detail from the beginning, I allow the first layers of color to create movement, texture, and possibilities. From there, I begin simplifying, editing, and repeating shapes to create rhythm, balance, and visual flow. It's a technique that teaches us how to move from chaos to clarity without losing the energy that makes abstract painting exciting. Throughout the demo, I talk about some of the key concepts that help strengthen abstract paintings, including repetition, rhythm, value, contrast, editing, and knowing when to simplify. These are principles you can apply whether you're painting completely abstract work or using abstract ideas in other styles. If you've ever felt like your paintings become too busy or you struggle knowing what to paint over, I hope this approach gives you a few practical ideas to try in your own work. I'll also show several close-up views of the finished painting and the final piece in different orientations at the end of the video.
