Watch a Baby Bear Emerge from Abstract Alcohol Ink

I never know what animal I'm going to paint until the alcohol ink background is finished. The shapes and colors in this background seemed cold and snowy and slowly revealed an inquisitive little bear cub, full of curiosity and personality. I create my backgrounds with bottled alcohol ink, then use 99% isopropyl alcohol with Q-tips and paint brushes to lift and shape the image. Finally, I use alcohol ink markers to add the details that bring each animal to life.
