La Educación como Vehículo a la Felicidad | Sylvia Ramírez | TEDxPUCE
Resolving to exercise the right to be happy and to live at one's own pace is a decision that requires character and special determination. This sums up the journey of Sylvia Ramírez, whom LinkedIn has listed as one of the 12 most influential voices in Latin America, among other reasons, for encouraging young people to think of education as a vehicle to their own happiness. Sylvia invites us to imagine this world: “Let's suppose that from a young age we saw a sign on the blackboard that said: Happiness is my right; not my obligation. I go through life at my own pace.” “Surely, as adults, we would decide differently,” she adds. In short, her idea is that the educational model would make a great contribution by teaching us to use our brains differently, no longer just in terms of what needs to be done, but in terms of how we should learn to think. Her talk is about how to move beyond the ideal of being productive machines and how to think in terms of our own happiness. Ranked as one of the 12 most influential voices in Latin America by LinkedIn, Sylvia Ramírez is a lawyer with a master's degree in Administrative Law. She is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and a certified executive coach in Spain. She teaches postgraduate courses on Happiness, Leadership, Personal Branding, and Consumer Psychology, and is a regular contributor on these topics to major media outlets in Colombia. More than 45,000 people have attended her seminars internationally. She is the author of the bestseller "Office-Proof Happiness," and Centrum (Latin America's first business school) has recognized her as a "Leading Expert in Happiness and Personal Branding in Latin America." This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
