It seems to be completely covered, so "only" the reinforcement cage needs to be installed and then the concrete poured for the slab. It's not that there's much left to do, but it's an important and unexpected step, at least because of the speed with which it's been done. Two weeks ago it was completely open, and now it appears to be completely closed. As expected, it has been roofed with prefabricated concrete pieces that are already prepared to receive the iron rods that will create the reinforcement cage. Therefore, perhaps the slab will be in place in two weeks, who knows, and by the end of July everything could be covered with earth. That is, it would be completely covered and closed so they can work inside the tunnels. The Yébenes underpass is considerably less advanced, but today they were already pouring concrete for the central wall. This means that, most likely, by the next visit they will have even finished the south wall, and possibly by the end of July it will be roofed just like the Batán underpass. They really need to move quickly because the deadlines are what they are, and the tunnels are scheduled to open at the end of December. Regarding the Boadilla Road underpass, I admit that for now it's difficult to find a good spot to film from. It seems they've closed off a good part of it, but there's still a section left to roof. Today I saw it from the car, and you can't see much in the video, but I can't move the camera while driving. I'll keep looking for a good vantage point to film the progress. The connection between the new and old tunnels is also progressing with the raising of the wall that will support the slab that will eventually connect the park on Avenida de Portugal with the new park above the A-5 tunnels. A good portion of the wall still needs to be built, in the direction of the tunnel, and it still needs to gain some height, at least that's what I think based on the comparison with the south wall. However, it seems to be progressing well, and I don't think it will be long before we see the beginnings of the completion of that connection. Finally, we should mention the surface-level urbanization works, which are still in their early stages but are moving forward. The curbs now extend all the way to the exit ramp onto the Boadilla Road, almost uninterrupted from the Batán traffic lights. And within the area defined by the curbs, the subgrade prior to the asphalt is also well advanced. I wouldn't be surprised to see the tar and asphalt soon. I understand they want city buses to be running there as soon as possible, but I don't know for sure; it's just a hunch. Happy Monday!
