#madrid #parqueventas #park #urbanplanning #madridspain Another visit to the construction site of the future Parque Ventas, and we have some important new footage thanks to a contributor who had previously sent me some videos. This video, recorded from the rooftop of a nearby building, clearly shows what's happening on top of the slab, which appears to be completely poured. But let's take it one step at a time. The slab, as I mentioned, seems to be finished, as can be seen in the video recorded from above. It's true that they were pouring concrete today with two concrete pumps, but these are likely for park elements, as has already happened in central areas. I don't think they're covering the reinforcement between the beams yet; it seems that phase is already complete, which is a very good sign. We also see many blocks of polystyrene or a similar material, lightweight and versatile. They allow for filling spaces easily, with almost no impact on the load on the pillars and beams. Further south, a lot of asphalt roofing felt is visible, a necessary step to waterproof the slab. But the most interesting part is to the north, where a significant amount of earth has already been laid. Interestingly, it's even visible from Antonio Pirala Street. Furthermore, walls made of concrete blocks are also visible. So the whole park is taking shape, and I wouldn't be surprised if, this coming July, we start seeing vegetation growing on top of the slab. As for the ramps, the first one on the Ciudad Lineal side is already under construction. A large one, in the central area, has taken shape very quickly. I haven't seen anything yet about the other three, although I don't think they'll be long in starting. The smallest one caught my attention; it will start from the Ramón de Aguinaga footbridge in the southeast area. It turns out that the route isn't the same as the one published in the park plans. Oddly enough, it will connect more along the southern edge of the slab. The connection point is clearly visible thanks to some iron rods protruding from the slab. It's not a major change, but it's important to understand that the original project has undergone some modifications. Minor ones, probably, but there have been some. I think they're working well so that the project will be finished by the end of 2026. As I said, it seems logical to expect to see trees on the slab before the end of August, maybe even in July.
