Another Big Win 2-1 Coventry City v Millwall | Midweek Grit & Freezing Cold

Tuesday night under the lights at the CBS and another proper test for Coventry City FC as Millwall FC came to town. Fresh off beating Leicester in the M69 Derby, this one was never going to be easy. Yes, we battered Millwall 4–0 at The Den earlier in the season… but let’s be honest, they’ve looked a completely different animal since then. Tough, organised, and never short of noise. Me and Charlie kicked things off pre-match at Dhillon’s Brewery – noticeably quieter than the Leicester game, but that’s midweek football for you… and it was absolutely Baltic. No shame in saying we were more excited about getting indoors than kick-off. Inside CBS Arena, the Sky Blue Army were in early, partly for the atmosphere… mostly to escape the cold. Millwall brought just under 900 fans, which doesn’t sound like much until they open their mouths – fair play, they were loud all night. Just 11 minutes in, Romain Esse grabbed his first goal for City against his former academy side. Not the prettiest, but they all count. Millwall hit back 15 minutes later through Ivanović, the big Serb showing real quality with a tidy finish past Rushworth. Second half, everything to play for. Coventry turned the screw, piled on the pressure, and just before being subbed off, Haji Wright popped up again with the winner. Ice-cold. Job done. Another three points, back-to-back wins, and suddenly things are looking a lot healthier. Momentum? We’ll take that. Next stop: Norwich City FC away on Monday night.
