When we stretch dynamically, we perform continuous movements that help increase joint range of motion. We also stimulate better balance and coordination of the moving limbs. These are also called active exercises and are distinguished from static, also known as passive, exercises. These dynamic movements should be performed smoothly, gradually increasing the range of motion to avoid muscle injuries. Many of the movements we perform in this session are used by athletes as preparation for executing a specific technical skill. Furthermore, dynamic exercises can be alternated with static ones, resulting in a more engaging and comprehensive class. Stretching is a discipline that provides numerous benefits for psychophysical health. It is a stretching class that also contributes to improving posture thanks to the combination of muscle contraction exercises followed by elongation. Additionally, performing breathing exercises accompanied by joint movements helps reduce stress, relieves muscle pain, stimulates body awareness, and improves mobility throughout the body.
