An Exhilarating First Sail With Another Drascombe Lugger
What a great day for a sail. 16mph gusting to 20-25mph Northerly, but it made for a fantastic sail. The day starts off with a lost shackle on the main sheet block, so we head home to replace that. We meet up and then sail with one of the other Luggers at Bala. We sailed under all 3 sails until it just got a bit too lairy for a first sail, so we follow suit and sail under Jib and Mizzen, anchoring in the North end lake shallows for a spot of lunch. We set off again and do some circuits and end the day sailing into the shore. I was truly bushwhacked after today!! Loved it and all the sailing spider senses are back alive again after this!!! Enjoy! 00:00 New Gill Race Fusion kit 02:39 Heading for a coffee!! 07:54 The magic of the Mizzen 09:13 Losing the mainblock shackle 10:47 Heading home 11:57 A Welshman with a Brummie accent!!? 13:35 Try again! 14:51 Tacking under Main alone 15:25 Flying the Jib 16:00 All 3 sails flying 17:32 Time to reef! 19:14 Heaving to under Jib and MIzzen 20:40 Under way again 21:13 Super fast Dart 16 22:26 Anchoring in shallow water 25:21 Drifting badly 27:57 Chasing down a Lugger 29:12 6.2MPH reaching 31:01 Time to go 🌐 My new website: https://sailingwithdave.com ❤️ Comments are open, ask anything you want in the comments section! 📢 If you enjoyed this video, then please don't forget to share and let people know about the channel 🔔 Click here to "Subscribe" and never miss a video: / @sailingwithdave
