The Little Rascals theme song: A history of "Good Old Days"

Leroy Shield's most endearing composition, "Good Old Days," became the theme song to the Our Gang film series, also known as the Little Rascals or Hal Roach's Rascals. Written in 1930, its first appearance is in "Teacher's Pet." The piece was used as title music in almost every subsequent Hal Roach film with the Gang and has become synonymous with their depiction even to this day. This video chronicles the many versions of "Good Old Days" that appear throughout the Rascals shorts of the 1930s, and even its usage as theme song to an NBC radio program called "Kaltenmeyer's Kindergarten," where the title was changed to "Golden Days." 0:00 "Teacher's Pet" (1930) 1:37 "Helping Grandma" and "Fly My Kite" (both 1931) 2:07 1933 2:52 1935 3:19 "Reunion in Rhythm" (1937) 3:46 "The Pigskin Palooka" (1937) 4:00 Final arrangement (1937–’38) 4:37 "Kaltenmeyer's Kindergarten" and "Golden Days" 5:03 Score reduction #littlerascals #ourgang #laurelandhardy #themesong
