Join me as I head out on a solo adventure deep into the beautiful Lake District for a relaxing summer escape in my self-build MAN TGE 4x4 campervan. With a massive heatwave taking hold of the UK, I wanted to leave the noise behind, find a moment of peace, and completely immerse myself in nature. The journey begins with a quiet, slow night of solo vanlife right by the water’s edge, watching the light fade over a perfectly still lake. The next morning, I take the 4x4 along some of the most scenic and visually pleasing roads the Lakes have to offer before lacing up my boots. After a stunning hike through the hills, I discover an absolute hidden gem, a perfect, secluded wild swimming spot to finally cool off from the summer heat.
