This is quite easy to do if you perform certain exercises, some of which are also useless. Smith machine squats. When you perform squats on a Smith machine, the fixed bar forces your body to perform unnatural linear movements, preventing your back from arching as it normally does, and increasing stress on your lower back. Leg extensions. Leg extensions are used in strength training to develop the quadriceps. The machine's design isolates the front of the thigh, effectively targeting it. The problem lies precisely in this isolation and the unnatural leg movement. Instead, it's better to perform forward lunges, in which the knees bend and extend in a stepping motion similar to those you would use in everyday life. Unlike the previous exercises, you'll rarely see this next exercise in gyms. It's the sissy squat. If anyone ever tells you that sissy squats are a cool exercise, so cool that you want to do them, banish those thoughts. And here's why! The main reason why you shouldn't do sissy squats is that this exercise is quite dangerous because it places a lot of stress on the knee joints. Jumping onto a box. This is a fairly popular exercise in CrossFit, where the athlete explosively pushes off the floor and jumps up onto a raised surface, such as a box, then explosively returns to the starting position. And the final phase of the jump back is, in my opinion, the most damaging part of this exercise. Lying leg curls. The lying leg curl machine works one muscle group—the hamstrings. This occurs in isolation and in an unnatural position, which places excessive stress not only on the tendons but also on the knees.
