Viking Line Ferry Mariella (Helsinki - Stockholm)

A film about the Viking Line Ferry MS Mariella in service on the route Helsinki - Stockholm in June 2018. The Mariella was built in 1985 by the shipyard "Oy Wärtsilä Ab Åbo " in Finland. With her delivery, she was the largest ferry in the world. The Mariella made her maiden voyage on 18 May 1985 on the Helsinki-Stockholm route. For many years, the Mariella was the flagship of the Viking Line shipping company. When the Baltic ferry Estonia sank on 28 September 1994, the Mariella was the first ship to arrive at the sinking site and rescue the first survivors. In the late 1990s, a stopover was made in Mariehamn on the Aland Islands on the route from Helsinki to Stockholm. From summer 2014, the Mariella also operated once daily on the Helsinki - Tallinn route during the height of summer. In 2021, the Mariella was sold to the shipping company Corsica Ferries and renamed Mega Regina.
