What an ice-breaking voyage! It is late February; after the long winter, the Baltic Sea is frozen over more thickly than it has been for many years. In this film, we report on our journey aboard the “Aurora Botnia”, the Wasaline (Stena Line) ferry from Umeå on the Swedish east coast to the Finnish west coast, to Vaasa/Vasa. In this film, you’ll also find out: why you won’t need a ferry here soon (it’ll take a few more years...) and why you’ll then be able to walk from Finland to Sweden what land uplift means and why the region is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
