Building our Dream Homestead One Day at a Time
Join us as we spend a week on our homestead in the mountains of South Africa. Make sure to turn up the volume to hear the natural sounds. We are building our home day by day and living completely off the grid. We drive our 1978 Land Rover to help get projects completed, we set up trellis in the garden as we see our first seeds succeeding, we build an outdoor tree shower and forage food from the river, picking waterblommetjie from the wild and cook a stew on the fire. Since most of the farm has old fencing we set up a doggy den to safely keep our puppy in a fenced off area when we head to town for groceries or supplies. We chose an area with some shade from the trees and plan to plant creepers along the fence line. We hope you enjoyed joining us this week as we ticking off a few random chores on our homestead, eating from the land and living simply among the mountains.
