Exploring an Anchorage in Belleisle Sound off Kingcome Inlet - Boating BC 2026

Check out the 2026 Boating Season Playlist -    • Boating the BC Coast 2026   We bid farewell to our little nook in O'Brien Bay in Simoon Sound after almost a week. It was a great refuge to ride out the wind and rain, but now the forecast looks calm, so we're heading out to explore. We motored through Penphrase Passage into Kingcome Inlet and up toward Belleisle Sound to check out a possible anchorage in a narrow notch. The scenery was stunning with steep mountains, waterfalls, and that beautiful green glacier-fed water. The solar panels were cranking out up to 70 amps on the way, plus the generator and alternator had everything charging nicely. Instead, we headed back down to Moore Bay, where we anchored across from Thief Island. It's misty and pretty here after the rain, and we should have a relaxing day before moving on tomorrow.
