Sola contra los fachos: Debora Arango

https://www.change.org/respetenadebora If it doesn't work, go to Change.org and search for: Débora Arango Débora Arango had to face two tremendous enemies: first, Laureano Gómez, an avowed fascist; second, Marta Traba, an art critic who, under the guise of modernism and the "New Left," waged a fierce battle against anything related to muralism or indigenism in Colombia, and wiped out the figurative painters of the first half of the 20th century. The Trabist legacy (of Marta Traba) in Colombia is fully alive and well, because it's hard to understand why someone who apparently supported the Cuban Revolution could be anti-communist. In this video, I explain how that happened, through the story of the great Débora Arango, her tenacity, and her courage. I also mention Jorge Eliecer Gaitán, a champion of Débora's painting, and tell the story of his assassination in 1948, in Bogotá.
