10 Minute Yoga Class For Mental Health

This gentle yoga practice incorporates methods with an evidence-base for supporting mental well-being, including diaphragm breathing and an invitational style of yoga practice. This session is for anyone who would like to decrease stress levels, focus their attention, and reset their nervous system. Dr Kathie Overeem facilitates this session. She has a PhD in Psychology, 13 years of mental health research experience, she is a certified trauma-sensitive yoga facilitator (TCTSY), has over 700 hr of yoga teacher training, and is registered teacher with Yoga Australia. She has been practicing yoga since 2008, and has first-hand experience in how supportive yoga can be for mental well-being. Kathie founded Ivy Yoga in Brisbane Australia so she could share yogic practices that are scientifically proven to support psychological health. She currently works with individuals that have experienced complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, eating disorders, and people in alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs.
