Vlog #18: Zhangjiajie, Tianmen, the cutest pandas ever, and FOOD

✨ Welcome back to Beyond the Wall! ✨ The journey with my sister continues, and this time things get unreal. We leave Jiangsu behind and head straight to Zhangjiajie and Chengdu, two places that feel like they were designed to mess with your sense of reality. Zhangjiajie first. Our hotel? Ridiculously good. The kind of room you walk into and just stand there for a second like “no shot”. Then straight into the national park: towering cliffs, hikes that felt both exhausting and magical at the same time. We saw a traditional performance, wandered through the landscape, and even ran into monkeys who very much acted like they owned the place. Tianmen Mountain was next, and climbing the 999 steps to the cave and viewpoint at the top led to disbelief at how insane the view was. Then everything flipped. Hello 成都!🔥We explored People’s Park and ended up drinking what felt like endless cups of tea, ate our way through some absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS Sichuan meals, and watched traditional performances with face-changing taking the crown as my favorite (still don’t know how they do it and I don’t want to know). And of course… pandas. Because Chengdu would not let us leave without meeting the real celebrities 🐼 From there, we made our way to Hong Kong, wrapping up this leg of the trip before the next chapter begins! And trust me… it’s not slowing down. Next vlog: Hong Kong + my return to Taiwan, my favorite island in the world. ✈️ 🎥 Subscribe to Beyond the Wall for more weekly vlogs on culture, food, travel, and everyday life abroad.
