This video marks the start of my five‑day walk along the historic Nikkō Dōchū (Old Nikkō Highway), one of the major Edo‑period highways connecting Edo with the sacred shrines of Nikkō. On this first day, I travel from Nihonbashi to Koshigaya‑shuku. While few traces of the old road remain, the riverside pine grove in Sōka offers a refreshing moment of greenery along the route.
