We Got Saved to Serve — Not to Sit | Matthew 20

Wednesday Night Bible Study at O'Kelly Chapel. Led by Sr. Pastor Brandon Green. Part of our ongoing Matthew series. Tonight's text: Matthew 20:1-16 (Parable of the Vineyard Workers) and Matthew 20:20-28 (James and John's Request). Two connected questions: Who gets salvation? And what does God call us to do once we have it? In the vineyard parable, workers hired at dawn and workers hired at 5 PM all receive the same pay. Pastor Brandon draws it out plainly: it doesn't matter when you came to Christ — six years old or sixty, salvation is the same gift for everyone. The only thing that matters is that you came. Then James and John's mother asks for the two best seats in Jesus's kingdom. Jesus turns it around: whoever wants to be a leader must first be a servant. We didn't get saved just to sit on a high horse — we got saved to serve. Inside the church and outside of it. "Salvation belongs to everybody. No matter when, no matter when you come, it belongs to us all. And Christ is looking for service." 📺 Join Us Live Every Wednesday at 7 PM YouTube:    / @okellychapelmbc   Facebook:   / okellychapelbc   📍 Sunday Worship (In Person) 2675 Centerville Rosebud Rd, Loganville, GA 30052 Sunday School: 9:45 AM | Morning Worship: 11 AM 🙏 Give Online https://www.givelify.com/donate/okell... 🌐 okellychapelbc.org 📱 Follow Us Instagram:   / okellychapelmbc   Facebook:   / okellychapelbc   --- *TIMESTAMPS* 0:00 — Opening Prayer 1:47 — Tonight's Text: Matthew 20 (Matthew Series) 4:00 — Vineyard Workers Parable (Matthew 20:1-16) 9:00 — Salvation Belongs to Everyone 12:08 — Romans 10:9 — Confession Saves You (Not Church Attendance) 13:36 — Baptism Doesn't Save You 16:01 — Discussion: Attitude Toward New Believers 21:50 — Being About Our Father's Business 24:47 — Matthew 20:20 — James & John's Request for the High Seat 30:32 — Whoever Wants to Lead Must Serve First 35:04 — Jesus Came to Serve, Not Be Served 38:00 — Serve Outside the Church Too 40:24 — David Started as a Shepherd — Do What You Find to Do 43:17 — Prayer Requests 46:44 — Closing Prayer
