Wednesday Night Bible Study at O'Kelly Chapel. Led by Sr. Pastor Brandon Green. Part of our ongoing Matthew series. Tonight's text: Matthew 22:1-14 (NLT) — The Parable of the Wedding Feast. A king prepares a wedding banquet for his son. First invitation goes out — nobody comes. Second invitation goes out — still nobody comes. Some even insult and kill the messengers. So the king opens the door to everyone: good and bad alike. But one man shows up without proper wedding garments — and is cast out. Jesus uses this to say: the invitation of salvation keeps going out. Don't miss yours. And when you come, come clothed in righteousness — not just in church membership. As Pastor Brandon put it: "Are you saved?" and "I'm a member of so-and-so Baptist Church" are not the same answer. (Romans 10:9) The night closes with a rich group discussion: Elder Franklin on showing your new life instead of your religion. John on reaching people who don't look like church people. Minister Mford on what a Christian is supposed to look like — and the answer is love. "Don't miss out on your invitation.
