Basse-Terre inaugure son nouveau Foot Five à Rivière des Pères.

On Wednesday, July 8th, André Atallah invited athletes, community leaders, and local residents to discover the new five-a-side football pitch in Rivière des Pères, Basse-Terre. Behind this new sports facility lies a genuine municipal commitment to making sport a driving force for personal development, success, and social connection for the area's youth. For the mayor, this project ticks all the boxes: strengthening local sports opportunities, encouraging regular football practice, and creating spaces accessible to everyone, where residents can come together. "Sport is a real springboard for our youth. It teaches respect, pushing oneself to the limit, and solidarity," emphasized André Atallah during his speech. Elected officials, neighbors, club representatives, and municipal employees were there to celebrate this significant moment, marked by pride in seeing the completion of an infrastructure designed for young people and to revitalize the Rivière des Pères neighborhood. With this Foot Five, the City of Basse-Terre reaffirms its commitment to putting sport at the heart of its local project, by offering new generations a modern, welcoming and resolutely forward-looking facility.
