Renton Municipal Airport (KRNT) | The ULTIMATE Pilots Guide to KRNT

This is our seventh stop on our PNW (Pacific Northwest) trip, follow along as we made our way up to the Seattle area! Fly with us into unassuming Renton Municipal Airport onto Runway 16. This airport has NO transient parking and limited FBO parking. Be sure to make a reservation before arrival. This airport has a launch ramp and floating dock for sea planes! TRANSIENT PARKING You will find very limited transient parking at Renton Municipal Airport with two spots at the base of tower. We recommend booking a reservation with Proflight Aviation for a guaranteed spot on the ramp. FBO Prolight is located north of tower, west of the runway. The staff here is incredibly nice and helpful, shout-out to Gabby for the amazing service! Gabby handled our car rental and made us feel welcomed from arrival through departure. Be aware that ramp space is EXTREMELY limited at this airport. You NEED to make a reservation if you expect to park your plane at the airport. Breakdown of fees for our Piper Arrow III for October 2024 Parking Fee 50.00 (2 nights at $25/night, 3rd night comped with fuel purchase) Processing Fee 5.51 Avgas 116.64 (18 gallons @ $6.48 gallon) TOTAL 172.15 FUEL Self-service fuel is provided by Ranier Flight Service located northwest of taxiway A3. Full-service fuel is available through Proflight Aviation. RESTROOMS Restrooms are located inside the FBO. CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL There are no crew cars available at this airport. Rideshare is a great option if you’re in the area for the day. If you’re staying for longer we recommend getting a rental car. You can coordinate a car rental through Proflight Aviation. We paid $235.46 for a 3-day rental through Enterprise. FOOD There are no restaurants on-site and you won’t find any snacks in the FBO. Grab a rideshare or rental car and make your way into Downtown Renton for some cool food options. Pike Place Market is about a 30 min drive away but you’ll find great food options all around Lake Washington. Renton Municipal Airport is usually bustling with activity from the adjacent Boeing factory. We visited during the Boeing strike and unfortunately didn’t get to see the Boeing factory in action. Let us know if you’ve had a chance to plane spot here and can recommend a good viewing area. If you’re looking for a place to stay, we’d recommend the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport. We had a corner room that overlooked the ocean and the Boeing factory. It was incredible to be able to watch the plane come into the SeaTac and Renton airports over Lake Washington. The staff and facilities were wonderful here and we can’t wait to come back. A day trip to the Clark Beach Park on Mercer Island is a fun way to spend some time on Lake Washington and plane spot! https://www.mercerisland.gov/parksrec...
