TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - The head of neighborhood association (RT) 12, community association (RW) 09, Rawa Badak Selatan, Junedi Diopari Simatupang, has spoken out regarding the brutal mugging case involving Sahrul Muwafik (26), a migrant from Tasikmalaya, West Java, who lives in Rawa Badak Utara. In his statement on Saturday (July 18, 2026), Junedi admitted to being shocked when a young man suddenly appeared before him, covered in blood. The incident took place in the Tanah Merah area, Jalan Mandiri VII, Koja, North Jakarta, on Friday (July 17, 2026) at around 11:00 PM WIB. Junedi explained that he was sitting at home playing on his cell phone when a man suddenly appeared, seriously injured. The victim asked for help with the tragedy, explaining that his wife was eight months pregnant. Seeing the victim's condition, Junedi and other residents immediately contacted local authorities, the Bhabinkamtibmas (community police), the Linmas (community line), and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) ambulance. Shortly afterward, Sahrul was evacuated to Koja Hospital for medical treatment. According to Junedi, the victim's motorcycle was stolen by the mugger. However, the exact location of the mugging remains unknown, as the victim only managed to call for help before being taken to the hospital. It was later discovered that Sahrul worked at Penabur 5 Christian High School. Before being killed, he had just finished playing futsal with his friends in the KBN area. Junedi also clarified rumors circulating on social media. He stated that the victim did indeed call for help in the Tanah Merah area, but local residents were the first to assist, leading to his successful evacuation. The mugging case is currently being handled by the Koja Sector Police and the North Jakarta Metro Police.
