The victim was found dead, buried in the yard next to his house. Police say this case was a premeditated murder by the victim's adopted daughter, DMG (19), and her boyfriend. The two are suspected of actively incapacitating the victim before burying the body. Information gathered indicates that DMG was the main mastermind behind this heinous act. He allegedly devised the plan with his girlfriend, who then helped execute the victim. After the victim was killed, the two locked the house so that Gatot's wife could not enter. The victim's body was buried in an unnatural manner in the yard next to the house. To cover their tracks, the mound of earth was covered with banana stems and roof tiles to avoid arousing suspicion from residents. Police suspect the motive for the murder is related to a romantic relationship that the victim did not approve of. Furthermore, DMG admitted to harboring a grudge because he felt he had been treated badly since childhood. However, this confession is still being investigated by investigators because it contradicts the testimony of residents who said Gatot was well-known and treated his adopted son like family. The two alleged perpetrators were arrested in the Sidoarjo area several hours after the victim's body was found. The Head of the Nganjuk Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Sukaca, confirmed the arrest.
