Melson's Corner to 88 - A Ride to Snow

On this trip, we take a quick shortcut on Fairplay Road to meet up with Omo Ranch Road which we take all the way up to Route 88 where we start to see snow on the ground. This is a nice quite route past numerous El Dorado County wineries, including one of my favorites in the area, Mediterranean, which produces a great Barbera. It's twisty and bumpy, so not great for sport bikes. There are plenty of offshoots for the adventure rider. We tried two of them on this ride, but one had slick clay mud and the other was snowed in, typical of the area after recent cold rains.
