3. Salvation is by the Grace of God through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Gospel). Salvation is by the Grace of God, which is unmerited favor of God, apart from man’s work (human efforts). It is a gift of God to them who put their faith (acceptance and trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ which include his Gospel (Ephesians 2:8-9; Mark 1:15; Romans 1:16)– The Good News of our salvation accomplished by God through His one and only begotten Son, Jesus, who is the Lord and Savior (His Incarnation, Death, and Resurrection) (John 3:16; ; Galatian 4:4-5; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4). Man is sinner by nature when Adam and Eve transgressed God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). Death comes and sin passed on to human race (Romans 5:12). We are all under sin and fall short of the Glory of God (Romans 3: 9). We need a Saviour (Romans 6:23), for we cannot earn our salvation (Romans 3:23) nor cleansed our sins through animal sacrifices and offerings in the law of Moses (Hebrew 10:1-5). Therefore, we concluded that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law (Romans 3:28) It is by Faith that it might be by Grace (Romans 4:16). Do we disregard good deeds or obedience to the commandments of God because we are saved by Grace through Faith? Certainly not! But our good deeds and obedience to God are expression of our gratitude (John 14:15; 1 John 5:1–3) and clear evidence of our faith and salvation (James 2:26). Do you know that good tree is known by its fruits? (Matthew 7:17); Much like, the children of God are recognized by their righteousness (1 John 2:29). God called us to live a righteous and holy life in harmony with the instructions of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:14–16; Titus 2:12; Ephesians 4:24). A. The Gospel that abolishes death and gives eternal life to them who repent and believe (2 Timothy 1:9-10; Mark 1:15 -implied principle). 1) The Incarnation of Jesus Christ: In the fullness of time God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law (Galatian 4:4) through a miracle birth of a virgin woman (Luke 1:30-35). He left his heavenly glory and took a form of a servant in the likeness of men (Philippians 2:6-7; Micah 5:2). He is the fulfillment of the promised Saviour (Matthew 1:20-23), which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11). Jesus is God manifest in the flesh (John 1:1-2, 14; Isaiah 9:6) is a fundamental faith that warns and separates us to false apostles and workers, and antichrist (2 Corinthians 11:4; 2 John 2:7; 1 John 4:1-3). 2) The Death of Jesus Christ: His sacrificial body and the blood that flowed on the cross of Calvary became once-and-for-all offering for our redemption from the second death, forgiveness of our sins, and for our reconciliation with God (Romans 5:8-11, 17; Hebrews 10:10, 14; Hebrews 9:12) He was buried, went and preached into the spirits in prison in the lower parts of the earth (1 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 4:6). He led the captives up into heaven (Ephesian 4:8-10; Romans 2: 12-15) 3) The Resurrection of Jesus Christ: The Lord Jesus risen on the third day, as the first fruit of resurrection, witnessed by the apostles and many saints (1 Corinthians 15:4–6, 20–22). His resurrection is proof of His divinity and the assurance of His promise of eternal life (Romans 1:4; John 11:25) He ascended into heaven and seat on the right hand of God with authority and power over all creation (Mark 16:19; Ephesian 1:20-23), which glory he had with the Father before the world was (John 17:5), and now clearly revealed to us (Colossian 1:15-18). B. The assurance of our salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:27–30). God’s testimony is greater than man (1 John 5:9, 11–13). His promises are certain and will never pass away (Luke 21:33). We became children of God by Grace through regeneration of the Holy Spirit (John 1:12-13; Galatian 3:26; Titus 3:5), at the moment we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ (Gospel) (John 11:25; John 5:24). We are sealed with that selfsame Holy Spirit until the redemption of our body at the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesian 1: 13-14; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13). Who can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus? (Romans 8:32–34, 35–39). God holds the future! All things work together for good to them that love God (Romans 8:28; Roman 5:5). If we are justified by his Grace (Romans 5:1), God will also carry us to persevere by his Grace (Romans 8: 29-30; Philippians 1:6). Our whole spirit, and soul, and body will be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calls us, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24)
