The Gospel in French Évangile (ay-vahn-jeel)

The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ Our life in this world is only temporary. We will face God at the time of our death (Hebrews 9:27). The Bad News is Humanity is in a fallen condition. The first man and woman created by God lived in the Garden of Eden. They were made in God’s image, possessing self-awareness, intelligence, and holiness (Genesis 1:26). They were in good relationship with God until they disobeyed His command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Because of their disobedience, a curse came upon the world and sin entered humanity (Genesis 3). Every person born afterward inherited sin and a broken nature (Romans 5:12). God’s Word declares that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23)—the second death in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14-15). Our soul is immortal, and because of our sinful nature and inability to redeem ourselves, we face eternal punishment in hell (Mark 9:46; Matthew 25:46). We need a Savior to meet God’s demand for righteousness and holiness (Hebrews 10:1-5). The Good News is There is only one name and one way given under heaven for redemption, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God. God has given only one name by which people can receive salvation (Acts 4:12). At the name of JESUS, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He is the promised Savior of humanity (Luke 2:11; Matthew 1:21-23, the only begotten Son of God—eternal and Creator of all things (Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-3,14). The Son of God was revealed as the Son of Man (Incarnation), to die on the cross (Death), and to rise again (Resurrection). His body offered and His spotless blood shed on the cross became the once-for-all sacrifice for redemption, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God (Rome 5:8-11; Hebrew 10:10,14; Hebrew 9:12). We are saved by God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel (Ephesians 2:8; Juan 6:29; Galatians 4:4-5; 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4; 1 Corinthians 1:8). Turn away from false beliefs or sinful ways of life. Believe in God by receiving His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior. Trust fully in the grace of His Gospel—the saving work of God through His Son (Incarnation, Death on the Cross, and Resurrection)- (Mark 1:15). Pray sincerely (Romans 10:10): Our Father God in heaven, I accept Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as my Lord and Savior. Lord Jesus, I trust in Your Gospel of salvation. Reign in my life and transform me by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, thank You for Your promise of eternal life and its abundance. In Jesus’ name. Amen. True faith gives full assurance of salvation. God has promised eternal life through faith in Jesus (1 John 5:9-13), and we will not face the judgment of the second death, for we have crossed over from death to life (John 5:23-24). Though our physical body may die, God will raise it again; whoever believes will never die eternally (John 11:25-26). God holds the future. No one can snatch us from His mighty hand (John 10:27-29). Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:35-39). The Spirit of God dwells and remains in us until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14; Juan 14:16,26). God’s desire for you as His child and Christian (Galatian 3:26; 1 John 3:2; 2 Corinthians 5:17): • Be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit by immersion in water (Matthew 28:19). • Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18; Colossians 1:9-10). Remain in Him and in His words as proof of your faith and love for God (John 15:5, 7, 10). • Pray (Matthew 6:6-7), learn from the Bible (Matthew 11:28-30; John 17:17), and fellowship with fellow Christians who worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
