Giornate Europee dell'Archeologia: dentro gli scavi di oggi
The European Archaeology Days return from June 12th to 14th, opening excavations, construction sites, laboratories, and research sites that are normally inaccessible to the public. The theme chosen for the 2026 edition is "Archaeology in the Making": showing archaeology as it is being done, from fieldwork to the study of artifacts. The feature features interviews with Mirella Serlorenzi and Luigi La Rocca, who illustrate the objectives and significance of this event, which aims to bring the public closer to the daily work of archaeologists. Among the cases presented in Rome, at the San Michele Monumental Complex, are the sanctuary of the ancient Veneti of Ponso, discovered during construction of the bypass to the SR10 highway in the Bassa Padovana area, and other important research projects currently underway. A journey behind the scenes of contemporary archaeology, encompassing conservation, research, and new discoveries.
