What did the man in the letters know about Grodno Castle?    • WSKAZÓWKA DO SKARBÓW W ŚCIANIE DOMU? SENSA...   Were mysterious chests from World War II really hidden in Grodno Castle? Letters signed by an alleged Wehrmacht captain, Leonard von Schreck, have reached our editorial office. He claims that in January 1945, he participated in hiding and mining a depository in Lower Silesia. The problem is that some of the information in the letters turns out to be surprisingly accurate. In this episode, I follow one of the most enigmatic stories connected with Grodno Castle. There are old photographs, mysterious sketches, names of real people, geophysical research, hidden passages, and clues that could lead to wartime depositories. Did someone fabricate the whole story? Or do von Schreck's letters describe real events? The material also touches on topics related to: Nazi treasures in Lower Silesia, transports of works of art, the mysterious cellars of Grodno Castle, the SS and Heinrich Schmauser, the post-war disappearance of castle monuments, the research of explorers and geophysicists.
