37. El-Kebîr

Close your eyes and take a deep breath... 🌿 Now look at your own life: Whatever you magnify in your mind, your heart becomes attached to it. Some magnify a position, some a person, some a power... And whatever a person sees as great, they fear it, they submit to it, they hope in it. That is why one of the first commandments of revelation was: "And glorify only your Lord!" Pay attention — not just "glorify"; "Glorify ONLY your Lord." Because if there is no room in the heart for the one and true Great One, that void will be filled by the inflated greatness of the age. So, what is the greatest in your eyes today? In this video of remembrance and contemplation, we delve into the depths of the name Al-Kabir, the Greatest of the Names of Allah (Asma al-Husna), whose essence and attributes are the greatest. This name, which appears six times in the Quran, is almost always found in verses of monotheism; because the small is attached to the great — as a person recognizes their Lord in His greatness, their servitude deepens. Therefore, our motto is "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest): We say it in joy and sorrow, in prayer and sacrifice, in standing and prostrating; with each takbir, the false greatness in our hearts is overthrown one by one. Abraham hung the axe on the neck of the greatest idol, Moses stood against Pharaoh, considered the greatest of his time; because the monotheist recognizes the "greatest" idol of every age and glorifies his Lord against it. The most healing aspect of this name for the heart is this: Al-Kabir (The Great) has become great in the face of oppression; because oppression is a morality of weakness and pettiness. The blessings He bestows are not proof that He loves Him, nor the calamities He sends are proof that He humiliates Him — they are all tests, and what elevates a person is their stance in the face of those tests. Like the consolation a young man serving three life sentences in prison spread in his cell: "I know that God does not oppress His servants. I know that God does not abandon His servant!" During the remembrance of God, with gentle transitions, with each "Allahu Akbar," whatever seems overwhelming will return to its true dimension, and your heart will find rest in the presence of the One and Only Great One. ✨ If you are ready, our journey of contemplation begins. 🎙️ *Key Dimensions in This Remembrance and Contemplation:* 🕋 *The Awareness of "Allahu Akbar":* Understanding that the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) is not a slogan, but an act of Tawhid (Oneness of God) that cleanses the heart of false greatness. Seeing how small the magnified authorities, powers, and idolized names of the age are in the face of Al-Kabir (the Great One), and directing fear, hope, and devotion solely to Him. 🛡️ *The Lord Who Rises in the Face of Oppression:* Facing trials with the unwavering confidence that the hardship one encounters does not mean saying, "My Lord has humbled me," but rather that Al-Kabir will never oppress or abandon His servant. Remembering that great reward comes with great trial, and choosing contentment. 🌾 *The Greatness of the Servant: Humility:* Knowing that pride does not befit a human being whose beauty, strength, knowledge, and wealth all come from Allah; that honor increases with forgiveness, and one's rank increases with humility for the sake of Allah.
