Come Hike With Me #6: Blue Mountain - Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area (Nova Scotia)
After an uneventful week, I decided to explore the local Halifax wilderness reserve known as "Blue Mountain - Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area"... yes it could use a better name. This is a public 'park' that is about a 15 min drive from downtown Halifax, making it a prime destination for the frugal and curious (me). The plan was to park at one of the closer sides to minimize the drive and simply roam around until I found flat ground to hunker down for the night. Thankfully there were a few options within a couple KM of the parking area so it was an easy night and beautiful morning. I'll probably work this into my regular rotation for gear loadout testing and try to find nicer section deeper in the park, the potential seems fantastic!
