600 RUNS in APRIL?! 🤯 | Ropley Chase 300 at Medstead

First outdoor game of the season… and it turned into absolute chaos. This was meant to be a pre-season friendly against Medstead, giving some of the squad a chance to get back into it after the winter. But Medstead were short, so I ended up playing against Ropley… which was as strange as it sounds. Medstead batted first on a very flat pitch and piled on 300, with multiple batters retiring after reaching milestones. It felt like a serious total in April, and Ropley looked a little deflated heading into the chase. Then things changed. Juher came out and immediately put the pressure back on, pushing the run rate above what was required. Wickets fell, but contributions came from across the side, with a standout performance from Tim anchoring the innings. Ropley chased it down with 10 balls to spare. Across both innings: 600+ runs 96 boundaries countless balls disappearing into hedges (and being retrieved… eventually) Proper village cricket chaos, great fun to be part of… even from the wrong team.
