The Day I Won Parkrun
Last summer I lined up at Laytown parkrun expecting nothing more than a good tempo run on the beach. Twenty-one minutes later, I found myself crossing the line in first place. Yes not the fastest 5k time in the world but it was a nice feeling and a felt like a reward. This is a quick story of how an ordinary middle aged runner managed to win a parkrun, proving that sometimes being in the right place on the right day can lead to one of your most memorable running experiences. Have you ever finished higher than expected in a race or parkrun? #running #parkrun #5k #runner #runningcommunity
