Knäckebrot selber backen – schmeckt viel besser als gekauft!

Here's the recipe for a simple, crispy crispbread that tastes soooo much better than the store-bought version. It's a simple, yeast-free bread - perfect as a healthy snack! I got it a few years ago from my mother, who has been baking it this way for a long time. So far, everyone who's tried it has been pretty enthusiastic about it - so you should give it a try. Here's the shopping list for 2 baking sheets: ▢ 120 g plain flour ▢ 100 g rolled oats (soft) ▢ 75 g sunflower seeds ▢ 50 g pumpkin seeds ▢ 50 g sesame seeds ▢ 1 tsp salt ▢ 2 tbsp vegetable oil ▢ 300 ml water (+ a little more if needed) Preparation: Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and spread the fairly thin batter onto two baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Then bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (300°F) with conventional heat. Then cut into pieces and bake again in the hot oven for 35-45 minutes (depending on the oven and thickness, this can take up to 60 minutes). Then remove from the oven, let cool completely, and break into pieces. You can also refine the crispbread with other ingredients such as Parmesan cheese and Italian herbs, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or nuts.
