Conscious Walking to Inhibit Left AIC and Right BC "Patterned" Tension
Inhibition of the Left AIC and Right BC pattern does not require any special techniques. All it takes is getting an individual's brain to process sensory input differently. In other words, change the pattern of sensory processing from the dominant right side to the non-dominant left side. To be honest, this took me many years to understand. I had many a-ha moments along the way that allowed me to see human movement in this way. I started with a biomechanical model where I thought it was all about hamstrings and glutes and adductors (and it is to some degree) but then realized those muscles are only as good as the sensory input the brain is using to activate those muscles. If the neuro-sensory input is "faulty" or too one-sided, it leads to overuse of the dominant pattern for all movement and respiration: that dominant pattern is the Left AIC and Right BC patterns. To get the opposite pattern to work, the Right AIC and Left BC pattern (which is really "left stance" phase of walking) you need to inhibit, or turn off, the dominant pattern. That's what I show in this video. Inhibition of her dominant left AIC right BC pattern through changing how her brain is processing sensory input.
