Arriving and Ludlow Castle | Shropshire 2022 | Day 01 & 02

#Shropshire #LudlowCastle #Ludlow #TigerTomandWildWill We started our week long holiday in Shropshire by driving from Newcastle to out cottage in Aston On Clun in Shropshire. We stopped at Fleetwood Services to get lunch and charge the car. Once at the cottage we went to the local super market to stock up and relaxed. The kids played in the hot tub. The next day we decided to explore Ludlow and the castle. We drove into Ludlow and struggled to find a parking space as the market was on. Once parked we walked to the castle and paid to get in. Ludlow is in the South of Shropshire, close to the Welsh border. The castle is set on top of a steep rockface with the River Teme running around two sides. The castle was built between 1086 and 1094, by Roger de Lacy and added to over the centuries. Ludlow castle is owned by the Earl of Powis and the Trustees of the Powis Castle Estate. After exploring the castle we went for lunch before heading down to the River Teme. From here we launched the drone and took some impressive video of the castle and area. The kids played in the river.
