Now, this land has become a sacred place for Japanese whisky, with unique distilleries emerging one after another. In this program, we visit the Tomakomai Distillery, run by Ichiro Hito, a pioneer of world-renowned craft whisky. Furthermore, we conduct in-depth interviews with other notable distilleries such as the Niseko Distillery and the Umaoi Distillery. We deliver the charm of whisky born from Hokkaido's unique nature and culture! The passion of craftsmen captivated by the northern land, and the numerous new projects paving the way for the future—a special documentary for all whisky lovers. 100 years have passed since the beginning of Japanese domestic whisky production. Japanese whisky, which was modeled after Scotch whisky, has undergone various challenges throughout its history and now enjoys high acclaim overseas. Recently, there has been growing interest in single malt whiskies that showcase the unique characteristics of each distillery, and a wide variety of whiskies are being enjoyed by many people. This program allows viewers to learn about whisky, which has cultivated its own unique culture over a long history and the passage of time, in an enjoyable way, and discover their own special whisky. Through drama, reportage, interviews, and more, the program condenses the charm of whisky into various angles. To convey the "present" of Japanese whisky, the program will interview many more distilleries. Furthermore, focusing on interviews with "BARs" across Japan where you can experience whisky culture firsthand, the program will create a "whisky encyclopedia" by adding new segments related to whisky. It will also deliver information on overseas distilleries, manufacturers, and international whiskies. The program will be further enhanced to deliver a wide range of whisky information. "#WhiskyPedia" is a program and website that brings together knowledge and information about #whisky.
