Brazilian influencer Thiago da Cruz Schoba, known as Thiago Schutz or “Calvo do Campari,” was arrested on Friday night, November 28th, in Salto, in the interior of São Paulo state. He is accused of domestic violence and bodily harm against his 30-year-old girlfriend. The assaults, according to the testimony, began after she refused to have sexual relations. The victim stated that Thiago grabbed her forcefully, slapped her face, pulled her hair, and threw her to the ground. According to the report, she managed to escape from the residence but was pursued by the influencer. At one point, he saw a police car and decided to ask for help. To the police, Thiago denied forcing any sexual relationship and said that he only "kicked the victim out of bed" to defend himself, claiming that she was hitting him with scratches. A forensic report obtained by CNN Brazil indicates that the victim suffered at least 11 assaults, with signs of attempted self-defense. The São Paulo court granted provisional release to the influencer and ordered urgent protective measures, prohibiting Thiago from approaching the victim and her family, in person or online. The victim's lawyer, Nayara Thibes, told CNN that she requested the influencer's preventive detention.
