Bikepacking the MN Arrowhead • Day 1: Grand Marais to Two Island Lake

Day 1 of our Minnesota Arrowhead bikepacking adventure started with a twist I didn’t expect… I loaded up my bike in Grand Marais and realized I had forgotten my tent 3.5 hours back at home. After a quick trip into town and $227 later, we finally rolled out with fresh legs, sunshine, and an upbeat spirit. This first day took us from the shores of Lake Superior up into the quiet Northwoods, climbing 1,627 feet over 24 miles before reaching our campsite at Two Island Lake. Even with the unexpected start, the day felt full of excitement, gratitude, and the joy of finally being on the trail.
