He is Daniele Cassioli, a water skier and sports manager with 25 world titles, 27 European titles, and 41 Italian titles to his name. The aspect of Daniele's life that makes these achievements even more exceptional is that he was born blind. He grew up in the province of Varese, where he still lives with his family, as he says: "the greatest gift that fate could have given me." From an early age, he was passionate about sports, practicing swimming and karate. Then came his first experiences skiing, and in the summer of 1995, he began his adventure with water skiing. From this great sporting experience, a desire to share his experience was born, to inspire other blind people, especially children. Thus was born the Real Eyes Sport sports association, of which he is president. And then came the publication of his book, "The Wind Against." Today, Daniele tells us how the special senses that have made him the exceptional man he is are actually hidden within each of us. We just need to know how to cultivate them. Daniele Cassioli is an Italian water skier who has been blind since birth, known for his 25 world titles, 27 European titles, and 41 Italian titles. He began swimming and karate at the age of three, and at ten, he joined the Italian national Paralympic water skiing team. After graduating from high school, he earned a degree in physiotherapy and completed an osteopathy course. For several years, he has been dedicated to training and initiating visually impaired children into sports, founding the non-profit amateur sports association "Real Eyes Sport ASD." He has published two books, "Il vento contro" (The Wind Against) in 2018 and "Insegna al cuore a vedere. Il bello è oltre la superficie delle cose" (Teach the Heart to See: Beauty Is Beyond the Surface of Things) in 2022, both published by De Agostini.
