Part 33 - BN HO train repositioning moves after Soundrails - Pacific Zip, MILW, Weed sprayer, etc.
This video lets you railfan Burr Stewart's HO BN layout while he and his friends reposition a variety of trains back to their respective staging yards. Sometimes the moves are backwards, but they're still trains worth watching. The trains in motion include a weed sprayer work train, a MILW coast train, the Pacific Zip intermodal, a light engine move, and a westbound transcontinental manifest freight. Also featured is an explanation and demonstration of the lift-up "rainbow bridge" they use to turn trains at the Skykomish staging yard, high in the Cascade mountains. Burr's narration also mentions the upcoming National Narrow Gauge Convention, to be held the first week of September, 2022 in Tacoma, WA, USA. For more information on this event, visit their website at https://www.seattlenngc.com . More videos about Burr's HO model train layout can be watched on this channel @muchfunwithtrains , which includes both model and prototype footage of trains in the Seattle region. The train layout is set in the Seattle region in 1973, three years after the 1970 corporate merger that created the Burlington Northern (BN) Railroad out of the Great Northern (GN), Northern Pacific (NP), Burlington Route (CB&Q) and the Spokane, Portland and Seattle (SP&S) railroads. Playing smaller roles on the layout are the three-foot narrow gage (HOn3) D&RGW "west coast extension", the Milwaukee Road (MILW)'s western extension and the Union Pacific (UP). He took the videos with an iPhone X and an AKASO action cam, and edited them in iMovie and Photoshop on a MacBook Pro. Another set of video images of some of the trains in this video were recently included in a vlog by Adam Palmer, who visited during the SoundRails open house and took some interesting footage of the Pacific Zip and a narrow gauge tank extra. You can watch that on Adam's channel @modelrailroadoperations2023 at this link: • SoundRails 2022 Vlog: Part 4
